Who am I?

I am a 32-year-old qualified accountant from the UK who is constantly pushing myself to achieve personal growth and fulfill my potential. With a perfect family and a rewarding, lucrative career, I have accomplished a great deal by most standards. Nevertheless, there is an internal drive within me that compels me to continually strive for more.

To date, I have satisfied that internal drive by immersing myself in self-development resources. I have over 100 self-development books (read about half!), all of my commuting or exercising has been accompanied by an audiobook or podcast, and my best form of procrastination is watching TED Talks. Despite the knowledge I have accumulated, I have never managed to land on ‘my way’ and have been searching for the ‘best way’.

Why am I doing this?

Despite my success, I feel like I have just done enough to get to the next level. I have this gut feeling (or maybe problem) that I could have done so much more. Now is the time to bring it all together. Using this blog as my journal, I want to track my progress so that others can use it as inspiration on their journey. In 5/10 years’ time, when I am living what I set out to do now, then others can trace that back to the start. Most self-development books or podcasts start when the individual is already living and breathing the life. They then typically reminisce about how they got there – the USP of this is that I am not there yet. When I do get there, these posts early on will be gold for those who are just embarking on the journey.

Why a blog? I want to use the blog as an accountability partner. As I start to build a following and others will be using this for motivation, I won’t want to let anyone down, which will keep me motivated to keep going. Plus, what is more powerful than posting this commitment to the whole world?

What can you expect?

This blog will have 3 key elements (initially):

1.) A journal/diary/action log/record of everything I am doing posted on my journey to become the best version of me. With a minimum of one post per week, I want to update on where I am compared to where I said I would be, capturing the good and the bad. This will be done in real time so I can track my progress, and others can see how I have achieved it.

2.) I will be writing articles on all of the knowledge I have accumulated and learned going forward. This will be on all things high performance and leadership, my two passions.

3.) I will also drop in the occasional review of anything I think can add value to my followers. For example, a review of the gym equipment I am using or maybe a new bike that I have purchased.

Later in the journey, I would like to have a newsletter, podcast or write a book. Anyway, I can continue to grow my following and get information out to everyone.
